The Flying Eagles Radio Control Club (AMA Charter 4589) evolved from the Sun Dancers of Fort Pierce. The most recent Constitution establishing the Flying Eagles as a separate chartered club was approved on December 1, 2004. The bylaws have been amended several times with respect to the size of the membership and the dues structure. Currently the annual membership are dues are $150 for adults and $25 for persons 19 and younger. A family membership is also available for $165.

The club currently enjoys the use of a field provided by a generous benefactor. There is also a nearby pond which club members use for float flying (electric models only) The field’s runway is oriented on the north/south axis with the east flank sheltered by a stand of tall pines on the edge of a neighboring pasture. The west side of the field borders an open pasture which is frequently occupied by a herd of friendly cattle.

Members are given access to the field by way of a combination padlock. While there are no official hours for field use, on fair weather days, members are often present as early as sun-up and often remain until winds come up (usually mid-morning). Visitors (with an AMA membership) may fly with us three times without joining.

The club owns trainer aircraft with buddy boxes and instruction can be provided to modelers new to our hobby. Arrangements for instruction can be made by contacting a club officer. There is a monthly membership meeting on the last Saturday of the month at 9:00 a.m. at the field. Prospective members are welcome to attend..
